Augmentin
Augmentin is a preparation containing amoxicillin and clavulanic acid, used to treat bacterial infections in women, children and adults. It is also used to treat certain infectious diseases.

The dosage of the drug depends on the patient's age, type and severity of infection, treatment effectiveness, accompanying ailments and supportive medications. In adults, the dose is usually from 250 do 500 mg what 8 hours or from 500 do 875 mg what 12 hours. In children, the dose is usually from 20 do 40 mg per kilogram of body weight every two or four hours.

Dostępne w Polsce preparaty zastępujące Augmentin to m.in. Amoxicillin, Amoksiklav, Klavox, Ospamox, Amciden and other antibacterial medicines containing amoxicillin and clavulanic acid. However, it should be remembered, że stosowanie innych leków przeciwbakteryjnych zamiast Augmentinu wymaga wyraźnego zalecenia lekarza.
